I can't speak for shield drain mechanics. I'm not familiar with the Ferengi set but I think that comes with a missle that that is transphasic-like. my Sci guy does 3500 per second with Tractor1 for 10 seconds, and I have some procs on top of that, as well as the cutting beam. They were also most likely hitting you with a Science Captain's ability that was dropping your resistance and as well as an Attack Pattern or 2 and Direct Energy Modulation which allows Energy Weapons to by pass shields. Transphasics perhaps(with Breen variants)? or Tricobolts? Or perhaps they were knocking out your shields for a few seconds with Target Shields. This wouldn't work on even my suboptimal builds. That's some crazy stuff they were pulling. I've already resigned myself to not being much of a damage dealer but I'd like to be more than just a cannon sponge. Is there a preferred doff setup for a healing tank? I can tank all day in PvP (well, except for last night's match) but i'm usually not healing much compared to others. How does Shield drain work? If a weapon has a 2.5% to cause shield drain, does the drained shield actually get transferred to your ship? Meanwhile, I'm trying a Tetryon beam build since the Ferengi D'Kora space set seams to lean that way slightly. From here, his buddies would activate some sort of ability that was doing direct hull damage through my shields and blowing me up without my shields ever going down. Then he'd drop about 6-8 mines at once (don't recall exact number) that would essentially bypass my shields and hit my hull directly for another 1/4 to 1/3 of my hull. He'd ram my D'Kora and take like 1/4 to 1/3 of my hull through my shields. Not sure exactly what he was *doing* but was feeling the effects. Was having a good time til their D'Kora pilot start smeering my remains all over the space-concrete. So I was in a PvP last night flying my D'Kora. My tactical Romulan captain will thank me, I believe. The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning toward picking one up. Or stick with one or the other.īut even if I wish things were different, it's a minor complaint on a ship that otherwise hits all my high points.ġ.) It has a carrier bay, and I do enjoy carrier bays.Ģ.) It has the turning radius of an escort, so I can run a cannon build.Ĥ.) It has a decent set bonus for the annihilation mode console and quad plasma.ĥ.) It looks like the Mogai and the D'deridex had a baby. Have an Engineer with EPtS/EPtS/APtSIF for running Elite STF's, and have a Science Officer with HE/TSS and probably Energy Siphon for doing dailies and soloing stuff. I'd probably carry an extra BOFF of each type for the universal slot. I do wish the BOFF setup was closer to the HEC, with the Lt. Com the Universal instead of the Lt means you have to choose either a ton of Science and basically no Engineering BOFF powers, or a good load of Engineering and modest Science.

It looks alright, although the BO layout is a bit infuriating.
